Recruitment of 200 "fonctionnaires-stagiaires" in salary groups B1 / C1

For the second year in a row, the police are recruiting 200 "fonctionnaire-stagiaires" in the salary groups B1 / C1 of the police service. Registration for the special tests to become a police officer in processing groups B1 or C1 is open from 20.10. to 03.11.2021. They are exclusively reserved for candidates who have passed the general aptitude test (Staatsexamen) in the respective salary groups.

How is the special examination organised by the Police organised?

All candidates who have successfully completed the general aptitude test (Staatsexamen) in the respective salary groups (also in previous sessions) have the possibility to register for the special examination in order to become a "fonctionnaire-stagiaire" in processing groups B1 or C1.

These include, among others: 

  • a French test and a German test
  • a sports test (video)
  • psychological and other general aptitude tests.

The dates of the tests will be communicated to registered candidates in due course.

Candidates who have passed the special examination will be admitted for placements according to their ranking after the tests and examinations and depending on the number of vacant positions, and following a medical examination (cf. Grand-Ducal Regulation of 29 July 2020 determining the procedures for the recruitment of police personnel, Chapter 6 "The medical examination", and Grand-Ducal Regulation of 29 July 2020 determining the procedures for the recruitment of police personnel, Annexes A and B) and a morality enquiry.

Training

The training of future police officers will start in April 2022. It will take two years, with a theoretical and practical police training phase at the Police School and a practical initiation phase within the police units

At the Police School, the recruits learn, among other things, police and security techniques or the legal framework of police functions and missions. They follow courses on administrative and judicial police and traffic. The program also includes physical and sports education and courses on the use of weapons.
