The Police are sorry to hear you have been the victim of crime and will make every effort to support you.
If you have suffered a physical or psychological attack, or if an item of your property has been damaged or stolen, you are considered the victim of crime (as long as the facts in question constitute a crime under national law) and have certain rights under the law in Luxembourg.
Anyone can be a victim of crime. As the Police are often the first official point of contact for the victim after such an event, they play an important role in supporting the victim.
Every police officer has been trained in dealing with victims. Police action seeks to support the victim and provide them with advice and assistance, as well as informing them of their rights and the police and legal procedures.
What to do if...?
If you have been a victim of crime, it is important to inform the Police as quickly as possible!
