The calltaker on 113

opératrice à l'appel d'urgence, calltaker

The person who answers your emergency call to the National intervention centre is called the "calltaker". They will guide you through the conversation and ask the questions needed to assess the situation and react accordingly.

The 113 calltaker uses their judgement to decide which questions to ask. Some questions are required by the despatching system depending on the situation, others depend on the assessment and experience of the calltaker.

If a caller wishes to remain anonymous, the calltaker will note this and pass the information onto the unit concerned. However, in order to prevent abuse, the caller will be required to identify themselves.
